PHILIPPINES REVIVAL Trip, we're back!
From the time we landed in the Philippines, one could
sense the presence of God. What a precious site to see 35
native pastors, in one accord, praying, fellowshipping, and working
toward the same end.... reaching the lost.
Immediately we were humbled,
realizing the Spirit of God, and knowing how difficult it is for
Pastors in the States to get along. Independent Baptists have
become too independent in areas, preventing fellowship, and joint
evangelism efforts.
What a precious site, and we commend
the Pastors for praying and working in one accord. It truly is
Biblical! And for Pastors in the states, they agree that if
there is any trial or trouble, that might cause a conflict amongst
any of them, they will pray in one accord about the situation, and
then leave it up to God.
Since landing in the Philippines on
Friday March 15, we met with 35 local pastors who would be working
together on the crusade.
To put things into perspective, these
pastors, while local to the Philippines, are very spread out.
Imagine that we are staying in an
area of Florida, in the center of the State, one native pastor is
there from Jacksonville, another from Miami, another from Tampa,
another from Pennsicola, and so on. Actually, these examples are in
accurate, as you now envision grand towns, metropolitan. I use these
examples to describe how spread out Pampanga is, and the traffic
made up of Jeepneys, on narrow rough roads with pastors from various
villages.
Most villages are about 30 miles
apart, however it takes about an hour to drive it.
We originally anticipated this
difficulty, but was assured that the local pastors would work hard
that their churches would over come this obstacle in order to attend
the nightly crusades as they moved throughout the province of
Pampanga.
**The numbers in attendance, and the
number saved are those which I can attest to as Very Conservative
numbers. We saw Philippino time, that is people arriving when they
arrive, so the numbers often grew during the singing and before the
preaching. And, due to my filming, and being busy behind the scenes,
I simply tried to stay true and conservative. The other preachers
often counted much higher numbers, but I will only print here the
conservative numbers. -Brother Scott

Sunday, 6pm, we were in several
churches, greeted warmly, and seeing about 100 people saved on
Sunday amongst the various locations Bob, Tom, and myself were
divided.
Monday, 6pm, we were in an open air
area in a small village which boasted an attendance of over 500
people, hosted by a local church that numbers less than 75. We spent
the day in the streets and were quite happy with over 500 in
attendance. Estimates are that about 50 were saved.
Tuesday, 6pm, we moved to an open
air, covered area in the center of a town that was extremely
Catholic, and somewhat dangerous. About 500 in attendance, local
Church size about 70. The Word of God was preached and we saw 30-40
saved.
Wednesday, 10am, public school, about
800 in attendance and over 100 accepted Jesus using the John and
Romans Bibles!!! 6pm, same location, over 500 attend, and we saw
about 40 saved.
Thursday, 8am, attended the
Philippines AirBase and preached in their school. Actually, God
preached!!! AMEN! We simply passed out John and Romans to every
student, each class room had about 50-100 students. We very simply
walked through the John and Romans Bibles having them repeat every
verse, loudly, in unison, 3 times. Afterwards, we gave an
invitation... over 500 of 1200 students called to God for salvation!
The Word will NOT return void! Glory! 6pm, same location as previous
night, over 500 and again, we saw about 30 saved.
Friday, 6pm, in a town called
Mexico!!! About 1000 in attendance, we saw about 100 saved! Local
Church size about 100.
Saturday, 6pm, near Angeles City, in
an open air, covered building, part of a school, had about 700 in
attendance, local church size about 120. Saw about 100 people
saved!!!!!
Sunday, the three of us were divided
up between many Churches for morning, and others for evening.
Collectively, we saw about 80 saved!!!
Monday, we were at Challenger field,
a part of Clark AirForce Base... U.S. property. The U.S. has been
training Philippines in terrorism there. We had about 600 in
attendance, local church size of about 120, saw about 30 people
saved, 15 come forward needing water baptism, and 6 come forward
called to preach! AMEN! Of the 30 saved, about half were the short
native mountain people... the original Philippinos!
Tuesday, we were in a small
resettlement village in Capas, part of a neighboring province of
Tarlac. The people were resettled there by the government as
refugees from Mount Penetubo destroying villages and killing many.
This is a poor and needy area. We saw about 400 in attendance, local
Church size about 100. There were over 30 saved.
Wednesday, 6pm, in Gwagua, in an open
air, covered building in the middle of town. Catholic traditions of
dragging crosses, whipping themselves, and old ladies crawling to
the Catholic Church was occurring on the streets surrounding our the
building. I followed some of these people into the Catholic Church
and witnessed them being beaten on the floor of the temple. At the
service, the Word of God was preached in what felt like the Devils
Seat. Over 75 people saved.
Thursday, 6pm, in San Fernando at the
Coliseum. Capacity of 6000. We rented 130 Jeepnees, dispersed them
amongst the Churches to transport the visitors. The Television
Station was there, paid to film and air live! The Jeepnees began to
pour in, Burangay Captains and military were walking around with
automatic weapons to provide security. Government officials were in
attendance. We had a tremendous song service, I had the distinct
honors to pray for the Nation, the Gospel was preached, and what
followed was amazing.... By my counting, there were well over 4000
in attendance, an invitation was given and over one hundred twenty
came forward and met with preachers and pastors for counseling, and
called upon the Lord to save them. Then, another invitation...,
another one hundred thirty came forward. Then, another invitation,
and another... all in all, I believe there were Five invitations! At
this point, I was lost in the crowd with the video camera and
stopped counting at five hundred people. The local Pastors
record several thousand saved.
Then... according to the Word, the
converted are commanded to be Baptized... immediately. The local
pastors, representing the Church respective to the convert Baptized.
The television crew was astonished... and remember.. it was being
aired on TV in a Catholic dominated nation! The security
forces stood in astonishment with their automatic weapons in hand!
Revival has begun to break out in the hearts and communities of
Church members throughout this region!
At midnight, the Pastors caravanned
to Manila with us, arriving at the airport about 3am. Our flight was
at about 8am. What could we say?.. nothing but Glory, and Honor, and
Majesty be to our Father in heaven. We were privileged to be
instruments, but God began bringing an atmosphere of revival to the
Philippines before we set foot on the soil, and will surely continue
to blessing the people with revival, as the Gospel is Preached, and
men, women, boys, and girls, turn to God through Jesus Christ.
We returned home Friday night.
... Thank you dear God for the
opportunity to be an instrument.
... Thank you dear God for saving
souls.
... Thank you dear God for your
protective hand.
... Thank you dear God for providing
the funds needed.
... Thank you dear God for
everything.

===Addition
to Article.....
Let this be a lesson to Pastors,
Missionaries, Churches, and Christians around the world.
-
Step 1, Realize your Charge... To
Disciple All Nations. Going, Baptizing, and Teaching is the
How-To... Matthew 28:18-20
-
Step 2, You must get right in your
own hearts... refer to Acts chapters 1-3
-
Step 3, You must get in one accord to
reach an area. If you're too Independent to get along, and to be in
one accord with other Churches, you must go back to step 1.....
refer to Acts chapters 1-3
-
Step 4, You must Go
-
Step 5, You must Preach the Gospel to
Every Creature... Mark 16:15
-
Step 6, You must Baptize under
water... Mark 16:16 and Matthew 28:19
-
Step 7, You must Teach them
whatsoever Christ has commanded... Matthew 28:20 (The local Church
may pick up this task, but if you study Acts, they often came into a
city and Preached, many were saved, then they tarried 2 years and
taught, or 2 weeks and taught.)
-
Step 8, Never take any credit
yourself. Only be an instrument. To God be all Glory and Honor!
** Most common mistakes.
-
1. Not realizing the true Commission
is to Disciple all nations. The commission is not Go, Going is
assumed. Study the Greek, or better yet, contact me and I'll send
you a grammatical sentence outline for these verses. The Main Verb
is Disciple, the Subject is All Nations. There are 3 accompanying
participles, Go, Baptize, and Teach.
-
2. Being too Independent. Do some
study, and you'll find this to be sin.
-
3. Assuming that Going is the
Commission, or that Going is Half the Commission.
-
4. Assuming that Preaching is the
second Half of the Commission.
-
5. Assuming that Preaching includes
"..that... Catholic... that...Pentecostal... that...
Mormon". Preach the Gospel, not rhetoric! Preach the Gospel of
Salvation though Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will handle the
rest. Quit muddying the waters with rhetoric that causes many people
to ignore you and leave before they hear the truth of the Gospel.
-
Their Blood will be on YOUR Hands!
-
6. Not Baptizing... Salvation is
through Faith in Jesus, BUT... We are Commanded to be Baptized!!!
You're not following the instructions of Jesus, and Mark 16:16 says
"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that
believeth not shall be damned." Non-believers are damned, but
Believers AND Baptized are saved!
-
7. Not teaching Christ's commands and
teachings, but Independent Baptist rhetoric... Preach the Gospel,
Teach Christ's precepts, then if anything was not covered by Christ,
it was probably not important, but if you must... Teach it after you
have fulfilled you prior instructions.
-
8. Wanting to take the Glory. Wanting
the activities to be managed by you. Wanting to gather preachers in
your Church to sit on pews rather than kick them out so they can get
about the Great Commission. Churches like to play mother hen.
